Silver Crane

ABOUT AWARDS

Awards Sidabrinė gervė is to serve this aim that each year they reward the artists, technicians and films which seem to them the most outstanding, by awarding a trophy called the Sidabrinė gervė / (eng. Silver Crane) – a personalized reproduction of the statuette specially created for the purpose by the sculptor Audrius Liaudanskas when the Awards were founded).

The Author of the prize a sculptor Audrius Liaudanskas once had told: The Crane was a special order. When the film people have created the Awards they decided to come to me with the request to create the prize. They have brought me a lot of material, hundreds of pictures - cranes from the Internet. They said then: "We want the prize." I began to think about the winch, as the prize should look like. How to make not tip, is positioned to take as, after all there is a need to hold and to raise the statue. Of course, it weighs, but the good thing must weigh... I do not like to talk about myself, my understanding, the artist has to speak his works.
